PHOTOS OF RECENT EVENTS

In November, we held the Annual Membership Dinner Meeting. A huge, hearty meal was shared, and a lot was discussed regarding upcoming projects and fundraising for the new stove pipe. Kim Vantrease will retain the office of President and Amanda Dougherty will retain office of Secretary. Attendance has increased greatly at all the events; lots going on at the Sampson Community Club and more planned for 2025! Our building is hitting 100 years old in 2025! A celebration is planned for this milestone! We thank all, from generations past to present, for the success of the Sampson Community Club and the preservation of the Sampson School building! Thank you! Here are just a few pics from the event.

IT WAS A THRILL TO GIFT OUR FIREFIGHTERS WITH COLLECTED DONATIONS FROM OUR COMMUNITY!

Thank you all who were able to participate. We raised over $1,200.00 for the Firefighters. Below are pictures of the moment where we met with our beloved Firefighters. Bryn Shepeck-Vice President, Amanda Dougherty-Secretary, and Noemi Bartlett, our Community Ambassador, were able to present the check and Thank You banner in the photo below.

The Chili Cook-off was another great success with some fierce competition again this year. We had winners, but we all won because the chili was so good! Lots of food, lively conversations and laughter filled the room; in fact, we were busting at the seems and even had tables outside. This is a great community and we’re all so glad to be a part of it.

See the floral centerpieces? They came from Feral Mountain Farm up here. Kari Johnson brought these gorgeous floral arrangements for the tables! They were absolutely beautiful and it was such a nice surprise! Thank you, Kari Johnson! And, thank you all who came out for this fun fall event, and thank you hosts and chili participants! What a day!!!

Another great Chili Cook-off!

The Pig-Roast Do-Over Was a Blast!

We had a great day in the sunshine at Sampson School celebrating the Firefighters who saved so much! They are a special kind of people and for them, we are so grateful! We raised funds to give to our own Firehouse across the Road. Folks signed the Thank You Banner, which we will present to our Firefighters soon. If you didn’t get a chance to sign the banner, let Kim know by texting at 303-570-9028 and she’d be happy to make arrangements for you! Simply put, we had a lot of fun at the Annual Pig Roast. There was a lot of food and the pig was perfect! Folks hung out for hours catching up with friends and neighbors and we met wonderful new families in this wooded hood. Our game host, Red, made sure to entertain with all the games. Laughter and lively conversations seasoned this special day, and we hated to see it end, but there are still some fun events coming up! The Chili Cook-0ff is on Oct 5th at 5 p.m and the Thanksgiving Annual Membership Dinner is on November 2nd at 3PM. Hope to see you all there! Enjoy some pictures below of this year’s Annual Pig Roast!

THE ICE CREAM SOCIAL JUNE 2024

Always such a great time at The Annual Ice Cream Social with live music by Don Coenen! We had a huge turn-out and a great time with everyone who came while Don played a fantastic show for us. Wow! I always hate to see the day end, but there’s always more fun to come here at the Sampson Community Club. Take a look at some of the pictures captured at the Ice Cream Social.

2023 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DINNER

This past November the Sampson Community Club held its Annual Membership Dinner where Members and other residents gather together to discuss Sampson Community Club business and enjoy a Thanksgiving type dinner. This year, Members voted for the offices of Treasurer and Vice President. Kari Vernon agreed to remain as Treasurer and Members elected to keep her as Treasurer. Also, we have a new Vice President! Bryn Shepeck was elected by Members to uphold the office of Vice President. Thank you and congratulations, Kari and Bryn!!! We look forward to serving this wonderful community together.

By the way, membership has increased by 66%! Let the rest of your neighbors know this community center is here for them as well! Rentals of the building have also increased as people are becoming more aware this building is pretty handy for all sorts of things!

What a fun day this Chili Cook-off was! This was my first chili cook-off and I have to ask myself, why did I wait so long!? Does the rest of the world know about these chili cook-offs? What a great gig! With 10 entrants and a significant number of enthusiastic judges, we finally had our winners! Every chili pot burst with flavor and some even had a kick you couldn’t resist! So, after a thousand spoons and careful deliberation, we determined the winners through ballot-voting. First Place winner of the Annual Chili Cook-off was Kim Swanson! Our Second Place Winner was Hannah Shepeck! And we had a tie for Third Place and those winners were Jackie Johnson and John Banks! Congratulations to the winners!!!! Thank you, everyone, for your participation!!! And thank you, Noemi Bartlett, for setting up everything! The first picture of Hannah Shepeck really captures the essence of the day.

We had a couple of drop-ins on their way to Conifer’s Homecoming.
Hello to Lilly and Mack!

Browse the pictures below that captured a terrific day this past summer.

On August 5th, The Sampson Community Club held the Annual Pig Roast. We had a huge turn-out and wrapped it up about 6 p.m. Lots of games, food, fun with door prizes and more. It was great seeing familiar friends and meeting new ones! Thanks to all who came out and made the event a very memorable one. Bryn, Joe, and Hannah Shepeck, thank you for that wonderful roasted pig! Nobody does it like you!!!

It was a showdown on the Coin Toss game between Trevor and Robert! Trevor eventually won the game prize.

The Stars of the Show! Joe, Hannah and Bryn, and Mr. Pig

You gotta have at least one bee sting, right?

He recovered…no bee sting will ruin his day!

And, finally, our special mascot, Andrew. What a guy!
